Jose Espinoza

Jose “Diego” Espinoza currently serves as a Council Member for the City of Tolleson, a position he was elected to in 2003. In this role, he partners with other council members to drive initiatives forward which improve the quality of life for the city’s residents.

In addition to his role on the City Council, he is the proprietor of Fuego Bar & Grill. His knowledge of business operations, employee management, and fiscal accountability has contributed to his success on the city council. In 1994 he joined Hensley & Co. where he held various sales and marketing positions in the Phoenix area.

Council Member Espinoza is very active in national, regional, and community associations. He is a member of the National League of Cities, the United States Green Building Council, Energy Star, Rebuild America, and the National Council of La Raza. Further, he is a National Appointed Latino Elected Member and serves on the Maricopa County Community Development Advisory Committee. In addition, he holds memberships in the Hispanic Elected Local Officials, League of Arizona Cities and Town, and Hispanic Forum de Suroeste.

Within the Tolleson community, he serves as an Advisory Board Member on the Tolleson Community Action Program, is the Tolleson Advisory Board Chair for the Salvation Army, is a mentor on the Tolleson Teen Council, a Blessed Sacrament Event Organizer, and a member of Tolsun Farms Block Watch.

Council Member Espinoza earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Ottawa University and an Associate of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Estrella Mountain Community College. He also holds a Total Quality Management Certificate from Estrella Mountain Community College.
