History
- Implements a
pre-treatment program which regulates the discharge of wastewater from
non-domestic industrial sources city wide
- Monitors the
pre-treatment programs of Peoria and Sun City
- Has been in
operation since 1968
- The original 4.7
MGD plant has two expansions
- 1981 to 8.3 MGD
capacity
- 1988 to treat an
average dry weather flow of 17.5 MGD
- Treats wastewater from the cities of Tolleson, Peoria and Sun
City
- Treated effluent
is piped to the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station
- In the event that
Palo Verde cannot accept the effluent, it is discharged to the Salt
River under a AZPDES Permit
