Tolleson Brings About Solutions through Focused Communication

Tolleson Brings About Solutions through Focused Communication

While communities, states, the nation, and the entire world continues to fight to slow the spread of COVID-19, local governments continue to develop contingency plans to cope with this pandemic.

Early on, the City of Tolleson established a dedicated Emergency Manager, Fire Chief George Good, who helped lead Tolleson Leadership through a series of scenarios facilitating opportunities for the team to collaborate with internal and external partners to address questions and concerns such as:

  • What data is important to know, and where are there gaps that need to be filled?
  • If the outbreak continues, how will that create health risks to employees and financial risks to businesses?
  • Even if the virus is contained in a relatively short time frame, it’s likely to leave a number of tough issues for businesses to manage.

The leadership team has quickly adapted developing contingency plans established on facts to address these unknowns. As the City of Tolleson joins many other local municipalities in a phased transitional approach to reopening facilities, internal and external communication remains a critical component to ensuring a successful, safe transition. The City remains committed to reporting accurate and specific information to provide residents, staff and community partners with the best communication possible.

To that end, communication or questions regarding other entities’ efforts will be directed to those organizations. City leadership, along with staff, will continue to focus on bringing about solutions in hopes of addressing the needs of impacted residents, community partners and businesses.
